I mean rules state you shouldn't start until the start date, don't have a way to enforce that unfortunately, but there are no prizes involved or anything.

Hope to see you take part either way :)

Hi Styx,

Not just yet,  our Discord and Twitter are the best places to stay up to date: discord.gg/uPCrgAXa5W Reload Magazine (@Reload_Magazine) / Twitter

Once we launch, we will be over on Kickstarter, before (potentially) having our section on Retro Format and Eight Bit (retro-format.com)

Hope that helps!

Zach

The differences are less prevalent than initially thought. The only difference is doing the work in-engine as opposed to editing the raw files -- we did give it a lot of thought and there are no major advantages/disadvantages, and as it's not a ranked jam we decided to abolish the rule

Yes, go wild :D

Use either, the difference between them is mostly GUI based :)

As many as you like, just make sure they're fun to play through :D

Absolutely:)

To clarify, the restriction is simply to level the playing field. Didn't want to force people to pay to enter the Jam, and didn't want them at a disadvantage for not doing so. Nothing to do with the war, sanctions, or value of the product itself.

Would love to have you take part Ragnar, loved your entry into the last E1M1 Jam and would love to see what you can do here too.

I've updated the Jam description, thanks guys!

Hey Ragnar!

Reload does share a lot in common with E1M1, a lot of the writers are ex-E1M1, and of course the focus is on first-person shooters, specifically from the indie scene.

E1M1 is no more, so we are currently the only print magazine doing first-person shooters. As far as I am aware you can still buy issues of E1M1 on their website, but Reload has no affiliation with that project or its staff.

Yes, that is fine Pauer :) Looking forward to your entry!

the troll is non-aggressive, and my attacks do not work on him

Have looked around, collected the coins, found the chest, activated the button under the water, but can't find what to do next. Help :D

Hey Alien! Would love to try this and see if it's the kind of thing we would cover in the magazine when it comes out on Steam. Drop me a message if you like :)

Have seen a minimum  price be updated, but can't see a way to actually make the purchase.

Hey Nek! Shoot me a msg on Discord when you can! - Zach

Drop me a msg on Discord buddy! - Zach

Hey Spencer! Can you please drop us an email? e1m1magazineissues@gmail.com

This looks excellent Echo! How have you been?

Going to be downloading this and looking to feature it in the mags again!

How is progress on Rupture?

Hey GuyWithTeaCup! Would you be happy for us to put this game on the upcoming E1M1 Demo Disc?

Zach

Really awesome game, definitely worth the price of admission. Going to find a space in the magazine to cover this one in the future. Are you planning a Steam release?

Will be watching eagerly!

This has been the first year and jam we've done.

Feel free to get in touch with me - I can get you in touch with a lot of people from the original RGM scene, and bring you up to speed on a lot of the best releases the engine has to offer.

The four judges each gave the game a rating between 1 and 10, this was then totalled for each game, and multiplied by the average score given to that game. The top 7 were all very close together.

What do you think? Did we pick the right top 5?

it's there! Don't worry :)

Get your games in everybody! Time is running out!

Cant seem to get it to recognise WASD, also ran into an error where it couldn't allocate texture memory - any ideas for a fix?

Looks fantastic can't wait to properly play!

E1M1 Game Jam community · Created a new topic JAM EXTENSION

We have extended the submission period until June 4th!

Great to hear it's coming to Steam! Can you send me your email address? I can send you over a PDF of the issue we previewed Carnal in if you haven't seen it!

The game is really cool, it's on the shortlist for future E1M1 coverage! Are you guys on Twitter or Discord at all?

Loving it so far! Will you be implementing a save system?

Would be good to have the option to display objectives in-level. Is this a possibility?

Really cool proto, do you have  Twitter we can follow the game's development on? I'm from E1M1 Magazine.

Glad to see this finally come back after being taken off Steam. I'd love to see a sequel someday. Have you seen the game's coverage in E1M1 Magazine? I reviewed it in Issue #1.

(1 edit)

Ran into a few bugs during the final mission, in the final area (Cathedral). Enemies would flicker in and out and framerate slowed down to a crawl. Happy to provide further details upon request.

Just wanted to add though, this is a fantastic project so far and I can't wait to see more.
